If you are keen to pursue a career in Law, the UK is the perfect place. UK law school graduates are in high demand in English-speaking countries worldwide, thanks to the rich heritage of the British legal system developed over the last 900 years. In addition, many independent judicial systems (including Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and even the United States of America) have their roots in English common law. Although those independent systems have evolved over the years, a world-class Law degree from a British University gets high appreciation in these countries.
What career options are available?
There are many prospects and scopes for law graduates and Legal Practitioners. e.g., Litigation, Legal service, Judiciary, Legal Advisor, Teaching and Writing, Legal Journalism, Law firms, etc.
Large Corporations and Non-Government Organisations
In an era of globalisation and cross-border trading, most large corporations and organisations have legal teams of excellent lawyers who advise them to be on the right side of the Law. Examples include commercial law, employment and trading laws, intellectual property rights etc. A UK Law degree from a reputed university can help you get a role with such Multinational companies or International Non-Government Organisations (like the United Nations etc.).
Become a Solicitor
Here is a list of UKVI-accredited banks in Bangladesh: In most judicial systems, Solicitors are confidential advisers with expertise and people skills who provide legal guidance and assistance. You can take qualifying examinations after you gain a UK law degree to become a Solicitor. In the UK, solicitor firms are an excellent opportunity for new graduates to gain hands-on experience with the judicial system.
Become a Barrister
A prevalent path for UK Law graduates is courtroom practices worldwide. Many would become qualified barristers through a BPTC (Bar Professional Training Course) or BPC (Bar Practise Course) programme. Becoming a UK barrister not only adds an extra boost to your career but is also a lifetime achievement that opens many other doors. Most barristers practising in South Asian legal systems (Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan) have a UK qualification.
What could you study?
Like other degrees, you can choose from a wide range of Law degrees. Most universities offer a three-year bachelor of Laws (LLB). However, some universities offer a two-year accelerated route programme with work placement opportunities. Most students follow up their LLB with a Master’s degree (LLM) with a specialisation in one of many areas like Civil/Commercial Law, Constitutional Law, administrative Law, Human Rights law, Intellectual Property Law, Family law, Real estate law, Taxation, Corporate Law, Labor Law, and Business law. Could I apply for BPTC or Bar Professional Training Course from Bangladesh? If you have completed a LLB course from a local university or on a distance learning programme of a UK university, you can apply for the BPTC programme. However, the requirements vary and applications require careful preparation. Please contact us as soon as possible to meet application deadlines.

Entry Requirements
Entry requirements vary depending on the course and university. Application experts at the UCA Education Consultancy office can help match your qualifications with the appropriate course. Generally, a good bachelor from a recognised university in Bangladesh or another internationally recognised university for LLM degree applications should meet the minimum requirement. If you are looking to enter an LLB programme in the UK, you will need a good GPA in the higher secondary certificate (HSC) or good A-Level scores. English language requirements: Most UK universities require applicants to meet a minimum language requirement through one of their approved language tests (including IELTS, TOEFL, OIETC etc.). However, graduates from a select list of universities may also qualify for an English Language requirement exemption if the course was taught in English. This is often referred to as a ‘Medium of Instruction’ or MOI exemption. Since these differ case-by-case, our application experts can advise you based on your qualification.
